My teenage son came in for surgery at UNC Health Caldwell. Any surgery is scary, especially for a momma. My son was nervous about the surgery, too, because he is a multisport athlete. His surgery date was the first day of summer workouts. Megan made both of us feel more comfortable. She was very informative about all the steps she took. My son didn’t know what to think when she had to shave part of his leg. She read the room and adjusted to our personalities. She joked with us, and the room was filled with laughter over the sound of machines. She continued communicating with us as she started the IV. Megan always asked if we had any questions. Other nurses asked questions of her when she was with us, but never made us feel as though we were not her primary concern. She provided blankets for warmth for our son. Thank you for making our experience at Caldwell worth noting for a positive experience.
