What truly sets Meg apart is her ability to consistently build meaningful connections with everyone she encounters. Even when I was not her assigned patient, she always took the time to greet me with a smile and a chat. She made a point of checking in, offering a moment of human connection in the often overwhelming hospital environment. Her friendliness is contagious and helps create a comforting atmosphere that benefits everyone.

In addition to her compassionate demeanor, Meg’s clinical expertise shines through in every aspect of her work. She is thorough, meticulous, and anticipates patient needs before they are even voiced. Whether ensuring that no IV caps are left behind or executing each step of care with precision, Meg’s attention to detail instills confidence in those she serves. Her commitment to excellence never wavers, even in high-pressure situations. I experienced Meg's exceptional care firsthand during my treatment for acute leukemia at Mayo Clinic. One night, I had a sudden allergic reaction to a blood product, which was complicated by my existing pleural and pericardial effusions. The situation required swift and precise intervention. As I began to experience severe itching and redness, the symptoms quickly escalated into raised hives on my face, chest, and back, along with neuropathy, skin irritation, and difficulty breathing. Meg responded to the situation with remarkable skill and composure. She quickly assessed the developing symptoms and immediately administered the appropriate medications. Her swift and decisive actions prevented the situation from worsening. What makes Meg’s care even more exceptional is how she combined her clinical expertise with genuine compassion. Not only did she provide the necessary treatments promptly, but she also reassured me throughout the entire process. Even in a high-stress moment, her calm and comforting demeanor helped me feel secure.

Furthermore, Meg’s personal experiences as a caregiver deepen her empathy and enrich her approach to patient care. Having cared for her partner through his battle with cancer, she understands firsthand the emotional and physical toll of caregiving.
