Meagan consistently shows compassion, collaboration, clinical excellence, and the ability to listen, serve, guide, and heal her patients.
Ever since I started at the clinic, I have witnessed and personally experienced Meagan's willingness to go above and beyond for not only the patients but also her coworkers. Within the first couple of weeks of my joining the clinic team, Meagan made sure to check in with me and ask about how it was going, listened to my concerns, and provided me with encouragement. Since then, she has assisted me with many situations that required a higher level of nursing expertise. She always has an easy-going, calm demeanor, which is very appreciated in the sometimes-stressful healthcare field.

Recently, I witnessed Meagan ease a patient's concerns about meeting with a CentraCare social worker by calmly explaining the difference between our social workers and those from the county.

It has been a real blessing to work alongside Meagan!

Meagan Corwin has been instrumental in helping enhance the resources available to all ambulatory RN's by actively participating and volunteering to be on committees for process improvement, offering her time and expertise in helping build and create the SharePoint page for all CDM RN's, and serving as one of our mentors for new team members. Meagan takes her time to help and foster a work environment that is respectful, inclusive, and encouraging.

Meagan helped identify a need for resources for clinic RN’s while working triage by bringing forward concerns related to a suspected child abuse situation. Meagan took the time to reach out to our Behavioral Health partners, Child Advocacy Center, and clinic leadership, which resulted in offering an optional education to help guide providers and staff in what resources are available and how to access them. Meagan does an excellent job when she sees something that seems off to say something. She remains curious to ask questions and assumes good intent when looking for clarification or guidance. She is supportive of her team and willing to offer guidance and encouragement during stressful times.

Meagan’s outgoing personality and positive outlook on life bring positive energy to the team.

Meagan consistently shows compassion, collaboration, clinical excellence, and the ability to listen, serve, guide, and heal her patients. An example of this was when there was a triage call from a patient's parent. The patient was sexually assaulted a few days before, and the parent was overwhelmed and unsure of what steps to take next. The parent was blaming themself for the situation. Meagan provided comfort and compassion through reassurance and listening to the parent regarding the situation.

She followed the triage protocol and advised them to seek care in the ER. Meagan, having ER work experience herself, thoroughly explained to the parents what they may expect to happen when they get to the ER. Then, Meagan asked us, her coworkers, if we were aware of resources that we could provide to the patient for this. We found that we did not have many options on hand, and most of us were unsure. Meagan then called the child advocacy center to get resources for the patient and parent knowing that this was very detrimental to them.

She then spoke to the parent again and provided them with this information. In doing so, Meagan also provided us, her coworkers, with these resources that we will be able to use in the future if a similar situation were to occur again. Furthermore, this showed a need for more education regarding this topic and resources that we can provide, so our location will be receiving education for this to better prepare us for a future situation.

This is just one of many examples of how Meagan constantly provides compassionate and holistic care to her patients. She advocates for them and "meets them where they are at" in that moment. She goes the extra mile to ensure that her patients are left feeling cared for, listened to, and understood.
