August 2026 Honoree
Meagan Bialas, RN
It was my first time visiting Nebraska, and I missed the last step at our Airbnb and fell, breaking both ankles. I met many wonderful people in the medical field over the next three days who helped me tremendously, beginning with the EMTs who picked me up and took me to Merrick Medical in Central City. It was my first time to break a bone, ride in an ambulance, or be in the hospital.
Meagan Bialis was the main one who took care of me when I got situated in the ER and while I waited for transfer to Bryan West in Lincoln. Since I had broken both ankles, I wasn't able to get up for anything, and Meagan was so incredibly sweet to help me through very trying times. I just wanted to say thank you again to her for all her service to me and for making me feel as comfortable as possible after enduring such a traumatic start to my morning. She remains a bright spot in my memory of a very sad day that changed my life.
