Once my baby came into this world, Mazie made it so easy to trust her to take care of her throughout the night.
Mazie was my nurse when I delivered my baby. As caregivers, it is such a cool yet scary experience being on the other side of the care system. Mazie, however, was so good. I still rave about her to my coworkers, and every time I think back on my delivery experience, she is always the first one that comes to mind. I almost get emotional all over again thinking about her, because as a mom who just gave birth, in simple words, you don't feel the best, and you just don't feel human. Mazie made me feel cared for, seen, and heard, and even made me laugh and filled the room with calmness and full of light. Not only with me, but made my husband so comfortable by engaging in casual conversation that didn't seem forced. So easy going!

Once my baby came into this world, Mazie made it so easy to trust her to take care of her throughout the night. I loved seeing the way Mazie handled, loved, and comforted her when I was having a hard time doing so. Even gave my husband a few tips and tricks on how to do certain things - very educational without making us feel dumb. I would've loved to take Mazie home with us. I was so scared, as I'm sure all new parents are, but I didn't think I could go on without Mazie. While my husband took the best care of me as well, there's just something special about a nurse that makes you feel like she truly cares about her patients' well-being. Mazie is an angel on earth, and it sure is a blessing to have had her. I hope she's there for all my future babies. And I'm confident when I say I have made a new friend outside of these hospital walls.

Mazie is a go-getter and stays on top of things. She would come in and offer my pain meds as I needed them, and would explain in detail what to expect as my body recovered from a C-section. She had an answer to all of our questions, and if she didn't know, she would go and find out. Mazie helped me to and from the bathroom, to and from the shower, really all the things, while my nervous husband took a few notes from her. She dressed me when it was too hard to move, and did the dirty work that no one likes to do. And she didn't make me feel any less of a human. Mazie is the best of the best. Every single nurse and nurse's aid that I had was incredible. Garfield has the best nurses, and I am blessed to have been cared for by them.
