What meant the most was how genuinely she cared. Maureen didn’t just perform tasks; she connected. She treated us with dignity, patience, and empathy, and it was clear that she truly saw the person behind the patient.
I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional care Maureen has provided during my mom while in the ICU.

From the moment we arrived, Maureen stood out as an extraordinary nurse; attentive, compassionate, and fully present in every interaction. My mom said she was the "energizer bunny", always energetic, positive and genuine. She monitored every detail with remarkable focus, anticipating needs before we even voiced them.

Her calm, reassuring presence brought comfort during an incredibly difficult time, and her ability to explain complex information with clarity and kindness made an overwhelming situation feel manageable.

What meant the most was how genuinely she cared. Maureen didn’t just perform tasks; she connected. She treated us with dignity, patience, and empathy, and it was clear that she truly saw the person behind the patient. That level of dedication is rare, and it made a tremendous difference for our family.

Maureen is an outstanding nurse, and her professionalism and compassion deserve to be recognized. We are profoundly grateful for the exceptional care she provided.

I want to nominate Maureen for the DAISY Award because of the extraordinary care, compassion, and dedication she showed while caring for my loved one in the ICU.

He was in critical condition after a bowel perforation and was on multiple pressors. He required constant monitoring and attention, and for several days, she cared for him as a 1:1 patient. From the very beginning, it was clear that she wasn’t just doing her job, she was going above and beyond in every way.

She treated him with incredible kindness and dignity, making sure he was comfortable and that we, his family, felt included and informed. She consistently checked in on us, asking how we were doing, and made sure we understood the plan of care, which brought a sense of calm and reassurance in an otherwise terrifying situation.

Her presence made an enormous difference. The ICU can feel intimidating and cold, but she brought warmth, compassion, and humanity into every interaction. We always felt safe knowing he was under her care, and her attention to detail, professionalism, and empathy were beyond remarkable.

The entire ICU staff was amazing, but Maureen truly stood out. She is the kind of nurse who changes lives, not just for patients, but for families who are navigating fear and uncertainty. Her care and compassion left a lasting impact on all of us, and she deserves to be recognized with the DAISY Award for the extraordinary nurse that she is.
