I came into this hospital due to an accident, and Matthew was one of my nurses! Let me tell you how amazing he was. So gentle, clean, and caring! He took great care of me! Like a brother! I could cry! I’ve never felt love like this at a hospital, ever! I wish I could take him home! I am truly grateful. This was my first time in this hospital, and the way he treated me, you would’ve thought he had known me since birth! He made me so comfortable, no complaints or frustration whatsoever, and he was always on task! Yes, he’s the greatest of all time. Thanks, Matt!

Matthew is one of the only nurses that I have had the privilege of working with whose care steps beyond the inpatient hospital environment. I worked in a pod with him not long ago, where he was taking care of someone with housing insecurity. This patient was being discharged to a facility for a short amount of time, but after that, he would be going back out onto the streets.

Matthew took the time out of his shift and made a care package for this patient for when he did end up back in an unstable living environment. He provided the patient with hygiene supplies, a couple of our yellow blankets, snacks, and any supplies this patient would need to be set up for living outside with little resources. His selflessness and generosity in this moment inspired me and showed his unwavering dedication to serving the Eskenazi patient population as a whole.
