Mary was my day nurse in the Trauma ICU. Mary was a wonderful person to be around and made my visit more enjoyable. Her humor was greatly appreciated and added light to a bad situation. She was compassionate and caring not only to me but to my entire family.

Thank you, Mary, for being an excellent nurse!

My brother suffered a traumatic injury that turned our family's world upside down in an instant. During some of the most frightening and uncertain moments of our lives, Mary, a nurse in the Trauma Care Unit, provided care that went far beyond her clinical responsibilities.

While we will always remember the excellent medical care my brother received, what stands out most is Mary's kindness, compassion, and genuine concern for both him and our family. She took the time to explain things clearly, answer questions patiently, and offer reassurance when we felt overwhelmed and scared. Her calm presence helped us navigate an incredibly difficult situation and brought comfort during moments when we needed it most.

Mary treated my brother with dignity, respect, and empathy, making him feel seen as a person rather than just a patient. She also recognized the emotional toll the situation was taking on our family and extended the same compassion to us. Her thoughtful words, attentive care, and unwavering kindness made a lasting difference during a time we will never forget.

Although Mary may not have been assigned to our unit permanently, the impact she made on our family was profound. Her exceptional nursing care, combined with her compassion and humanity, exemplifies everything the DAISY Award represents. We will always be grateful for the comfort and support she provided when we needed it most.

In the high-pressure environment of the Trauma Unit, it is easy for care to feel clinical or rushed, but Mary ensures it is anything but. During my time there, she demonstrated not only expert clinical skill but a level of emotional support that changed my entire experience.

Specifically, I remember when it was time for me to walk after spinal fusion surgery. Mary took extra time to help me get on my feet and walk safely. Mary has a gift for making patients feel like they are her only priority, even when the unit is at its busiest.

She advocated for my needs, kept my family informed with grace, and provided a sense of safety during one of the most frightening times of my life. She embodies every quality of an extraordinary nurse, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition

Thank you, Mary, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
