Mary was nominated by a patient family member whose mother had complications after a TAVR procedure. As nurses, we see complications regularly and know how to manage them. We don’t always realize that patients and their families need us to validate their concerns.

“My Mom had a TAVR procedure and had issues with her blood pressure. Some nurses were nonchalant and told us this was all normal and not to be concerned. Mary was extremely attentive. She told my mom, my sister, and me everything that was happening as it was going on. She made sure my mom was stabilized. My mom felt she was seen, heard, and cared for. We really appreciate Mary."
