Mary was the charge nurse on K2. Besides fulfilling her duties as charge, Mary covered the entire unit, ensuring all her staff (nurses and aides) had the support they needed to care for the veteran. On this day, we had 3 rapid response codes called, and Mary covered everything the staff needed for support. She covered staff breaks; she took patients to relieve busy nurses; she advocated for the floor on staffing and admissions, and she kept her smile, friendly attitude, and team spirit through it all.

Without Mary on this incredibly busy day, K2 would have broken in the chaos. When Mary is here, I know this floor will excel.
