March 2026 Honoree
Mary Kimball, RN
My 92-year-old grandmother came into the ER, and we found out she had had a heart attack. Though she had had many medical issues, A heart attack was not expected. The heart attack did quite a number on her. She was not cognitively with it, was hallucinating, and was unable to communicate effectively. We were moved up to the hospital room, and our nurse was Mary. Because of her compassion, her gentleness, and how she communicated with my grandma, she was able to put a very anxious and hurting woman at ease. It is heartbreaking to see someone you love in so much pain, so confused, and so scared, but having someone taking care of her like they were their own family made it a little bit easier. Mary, thank you for showing my grandma kindness, even when she was confused and didn't know what was going on. I will always remember that and be extremely grateful for your kindness, which made this really difficult time a little easier.
Thank you, Mary, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
