While being very professional, Mary was also very caring and sympathetic to the situation. She expressed much concern not only to us but to our mom, who was the patient. Always conversing with Mom while tending to her needs, and even when Mary wasn't physically caring for her, she would always acknowledge her presence while in the room. That meant a lot to us. Mary consistently made sure we were comfortable with what was going on, whether it was administering meds, changing the urine bag, making sure Mom was comfortable, etc. and stayed till we were at ease and Mom appeared resting peacefully. Mary called us several times during the evenings, knowing we might be a little apprehensive as to what the night might present to us, knowing Mom's time was limited. She was so reassuring and made us feel like we had a handle on things. When Mary would come to the door, a weight would be lifted. We know Mom really liked Mary, we could read the ease on her face. We could never thank Mary enough. I even cried when Mary came to the viewing; it was so thoughtful. She's awesome as a person and a nurse. Thank you, Mary.
