Mary Brown, BSN, RN, OCN

I handled most of the communication with Mary Brown, on my loved one's behalf, and called her many times. Mary is a delight, and it is a sincere pleasure to know her. She made a very difficult cancer journey feel less heavy just by being reachable.

We both always felt reassured and encouraged after talking to Mary, without ever having met him; thus, we considered Mary to be an integral part of his care team.

When we were overwhelmed about office appointments and hospital admissions, Mary was just a phone call away to explain, confirm, or reassure. About medications or dosages, Mary was there—just a phone call away to confirm and reassure us about his meds. Even on her day off, Mary was able to resolve a miscommunication regarding a hospital admission for him.

So we called Mary with a question she could not answer; she would get an answer for us and promptly called back. We so appreciate having a direct line to Mary and that she always answers her phone!

At my loved one's appointment with his doctor, before his last hospital admission, we asked to meet Mary. We wanted to let her know face-to-face how thankful we are for her, how helpful she has been, and to share a heartfelt hug to let her know what a blessing she is.

Everyone should have a Mary Brown on their team!
