She provided me with a new blood pressure cuff/ monitor and suggested checking it twice a day, 2 hours after breakfast and before bed.
We had checked into the shades of green at Disney World. I had been having very high blood pressure readings for the last three days, in the stroke range. The clinic personnel checked me right in after providing the necessary ID. Nurse Mary was there to take me in. My wife was with me. I explained my reason for coming in. I told her my last reading using a wrist-type blood pressure monitor. She checked my pressure. It was 129/72. The wrist monitor had been giving readings of 239/105 on average. It turns out that the wrist monitor bought a year ago was defective. She provided me with a new blood pressure cuff/ monitor and suggested checking it twice a day, 2 hours after breakfast and before bed. She provided a tracking sheet and suggested I follow up with my VA and OSU primary care physicians. We live in the Columbus, OH area. I’m service-connected with hypertension. I am a retired county veteran service officer.
