I will never forget my experience at Kaiser Antioch Labor and Delivery, and thank you once again, Martha and her whole team.
I wanted to nominate Nurse Leader, Martha, at Kaiser Antioch Labor and Delivery! The entire staff was extraordinary and made my experience amazing, but Martha was a gift sent from heaven. I was going through postpartum emotions and hormones after birth and my first night at the hospital. My Fiancé and I are first-time parents, so we were and still are learning. Martha came in to check in on me, and I completely broke down and burst into tears right in front of her. Not only was she compassionate, but the amount of care and quality of care she showed my baby was out of this world. Martha offered to take my newborn to the NICU with her so that my fiancé and I could get some sleep in (we were running on 1 hour of sleep).
Martha stayed in my room for around 20 minutes, simply caring for my baby and me. At the same time, her phone was going off left and right, and Martha told them that she was with a patient at the moment and would be free shortly. Martha even went out of her way to get my fiancé some lunch, and she did not take no for an answer. Martha is a true example of how important nurses in labor and delivery are. Martha had something special about her that not only calmed my newborn down but calmed me down as well. It was like having my own mother there telling me, “Honey, it will be okay”. I will never forget my experience at Kaiser Antioch Labor and Delivery, and thank you once again, Martha and her whole team. I will certainly be there again for my future kids.
