In a time of constant change and uncertainty within the nursing profession, Marion meets every challenge with grace, resilience, and dignity.
I have worked with so many great nurses throughout my career, but Marion Gentry is absolutely one of the best I have had the privilege of working with.
Marion began her career at our facility as an LPN in the Behavioral Health unit before transferring to Med-Surg and later to the ICU. Over the years, she has worked tirelessly to advance her education and career while raising three beautiful children and caring for her family. She completed the LPN-to-RN bridge program in 2020, took the initiative to become trained in ultrasound-guided IV insertions, and recently earned her CCRN certification.
Marion consistently provides exceptional care to every patient she serves. She takes the extra time to thoroughly review patient charts, researching past medical histories, diagnoses, and medications to better understand each patient's unique needs. She is a fierce advocate for her patients, standing in the gap for them during their most vulnerable moments. Kind yet direct when necessary, Marion communicates confidently with providers and consistently champions the excellent care she believes every patient deserves.
As a charge nurse in the ICU and a relief House Supervisor, Marion truly leads by example. She has earned the respect of her coworkers and providers throughout our facility through her clinical expertise, professionalism, and willingness to help wherever she is needed. She willingly works in any department without complaint and has the knowledge and adaptability to effectively manage patients wherever she goes.
In a time of constant change and uncertainty within the nursing profession, Marion meets every challenge with grace, resilience, and dignity. She is an invaluable asset to Russell County Hospital and has chosen to dedicate her talents to serving a small community, where her impact is felt every day by patients, families, and colleagues alike.
