While in the hospital at Kaiser Santa Rosa on the 4th wing, I was beyond comforted following a traumatic experience by two nurses who eased my stress and made me feel heard and safe. Both these nurses were kind, attentive, and demonstrated excellent teamwork, keeping me very informed on all procedures happening. I was in the hospital for sepsis and had to miss my RN pinning ceremony, which I was very devastated about. They took time to listen to me, made efforts to make me more comfortable, and, when able, took time to just sit and listen. Their compassion is inspiring, especially for me, being a future nurse. They embody the type of caregiver I want to be.

On the day of my pinning ceremony, they came in and did a mini celebration and let me pick out a fun badge reel. It, of course, was not the same thing, but the extra time and thought that went into doing this warmed my heart. I really hope that these exceptional nurses get the recognition they deserve, and I appreciate them greatly!
