She saw our pain, held space for our grief, and treated my mom with a reverence that felt sacred.
When my mom was admitted to the ICU, our world shifted. She had been found on the floor at home, so very sick, more than any of us had realized. The days that followed were filled with heartbreak, difficult decisions, and the kind of love that only grows stronger in the face of loss. After speaking with her doctors, we made the painful but loving choice to move her to comfort care. And that’s when Marie entered our lives. Marie didn’t just walk into the room – she brought with her a presence that steadied us. She was kind, compassionate, and deeply intuitive. She saw our pain, held space for our grief, and treated my mom with a reverence that felt sacred. She told us, “You are all my patients,” and in that moment, we knew we weren’t alone. Marie cared for my mom with such grace, and she cared for us too – with warmth, patience, and quiet strength. She said it was “truly an honor” to care for my mom at the end of her life. But the honor was ours – to witness someone so devoted, so human, and so full of heart. Marie gave us peace when we needed it most. She helped us say goodbye with dignity, and she reminded us that even in sorrow, there is beauty. Marie, thank you. You were a light in our darkest hours, and we will carry your kindness with us always.
