I would like to nominate Maricon, Oncology Nurse Manager, for the DAISY Award in recognition of her exceptional leadership, support, and dedication to both staff and patient care.

Although she is not my direct nurse manager, I am privileged to work closely with her in my role as a Clinical Nurse Educator for the oncology and palliative care departments. From the very beginning, she has been incredibly supportive of my work, always encouraging educational initiatives and facilitating opportunities for staff development. Her openness to collaboration has significantly contributed to the success of various training sessions and upskilling programs within her units.

What truly sets her apart is her commitment to empowering her team. She consistently fosters a positive and inclusive environment where nurses feel valued, confident, and motivated to grow. She actively supports her staff in enhancing their clinical competencies, encourages evidence-based practice, and promotes continuous learning in the oncology and palliative care units.

It is inspiring to witness her ability to balance operational demands while still prioritizing staff well-being and professional growth.
