I arrived at the ER crying, scared, and in severe pain. Thanks to Maria. I left with a smile on my face a clear understanding of my care plan and reassurance that my pain was real and that I mattered.
I would like to recognize nurse Maria for her outstanding compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. Before arriving at Mount Sinai 🇺🇸 my pain and symptoms were ignored and dismissed by both my OB/GYN and urgent care. I felt completely defeated, unheard, as though my pain didn’t matter.
I almost didn’t come to the ED. At the moment I arrived at Mount Sinai 🇺🇸, everything changed because of Maria. The first person I would see she immediately jumped into action coming to aid me with a wheelchair from that moment on she made me feel safe, comfortable and truly seen Maria validated my pain and reassured me that I was experiencing was real and mattered.
Maria is beautiful inside and out, down-to-earth, passionate about her job, and deeply committed to her patients. She formed a genuine connection with me, chatting with me and meeting me like family rather than just another patient. She even went above and beyond by bringing a full entrée for lunch when I was only expecting a little snack. I arrived at the ER crying, scared, and in severe pain. Thanks to Maria. I left with a smile on my face a clear understanding of my care plan and reassurance that my pain was real and that I mattered.
Nurses like Maria are rare, and I am so grateful for her. Mount Sinai is credibly fortunate to have her.
