Margie helped my Mom get through the horrible process of dying and she did it with outstanding compassion, exemplary care, dignity and the utmost respect. These attributes were also extend to our family as well. We witnessed the rapport she had with my Mom the first day she was admitted to the hospital and later, the recognition in our Mom's face or a squeeze of her hand to let us know that she knew her favorite nurse was there, taking good of her.

Margie always kept us informed about Mom's condition and always asked if there was anything else she could do for Mom or for us. It was important to her to let us know that Mom could hear us and that it was ok to sit by her bedside to talk to her, calm her and help her pass. She also was instrumental in getting us an appropriate RN/LPN for Mom's final night in the hospital. Someone other than was scheduled for that night. It allowed us to know that Mom was being taken care of so we could go home, get some rest and be back of her final hours. Then, to our surprise as we rounded the corner from the elevator, sitting in front of Mom's room is a hospitality cart for our family and an apology from Margie saying I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. And finally the care and concern she demonstrated to Mom and our family after she had passed. She closed Mom's eyes, closed her mouth and gave us plenty of time to pay our last respects to an important member of our family.

I honestly do not know how we would have gotten through this ordeal without Margie. To our family, she has met every criteria for this award and also went above and beyond. She will always be remembered as caring, compassionate and amazing individual and nurse.

She came into our life as a complete stranger, but she quickly turned into one of God's angels!
