I've only been working as a patient observer for a short time, but the dedication Maggie gave to my patient was truly remarkable.

My patient was at high risk of falls, so the Sarasteady was needed. The patience she had in not only explaining to the patient, but also to me on how to operate it, as well as taking a urine sample, was relieving since it took us almost an hour to complete everything. She took time out of her shift to explain and teach me information that I had never been exposed to prior to that night.

The most comforting thing Maggie did was connect with her patient. Long story short, Maggie grew up in the same area as the patient did, and an amazing connection formed beyond nurse to patient in my eyes. The laughter between them, but also the care she took of his wounds, was not noticed by anyone but me. She doesn't need validation from others to continue nursing like this; it is a pure heart that makes her this way.

She moves diligently and manages her time just right to be able to connect with her patients, making them more than just another patient on the chart. She inspires me to strive for a better connection to make the hospital feel as much at home as possible!
