Maggie’s nursing career spans a remarkable variety of roles, showcasing her commitment to excellence and her passion for patient care.

Maggie began her career in nursing with roles in medical-surgical units, the intensive care unit, and Case Management, demonstrating versatility and a comprehensive understanding of patient care across multiple settings. In November 2004, Maggie joined the Mid Coast Hospital team in the Intensive Care Unit, where she worked until 2007. She continued her impactful career as a Clinical Consultant until 2010, then transitioned to the Case Management Department until 2013.

Maggie’s pursuit of higher education led her to become a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013, where she contributed to the outpatient setting until 2016. That year marked the beginning of her work in Palliative Care, where she truly found her calling. She currently serves as an Inpatient Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, where her expertise in providing complex care to patients with serious illnesses is invaluable.

Maggie’s role in Palliative Care involves comprehensive assessments and management of symptoms, as well as assisting patients and families to define and implement their care goals. Her quiet and steady approach in navigating difficult and often heart-wrenching situations, always with grace and compassion, makes Maggie a standout nurse. Her patients, families, and colleagues alike are fortunate to experience her kindness, skill, and unwavering dedication.

Maggie’s accomplishments include over nine years of invaluable service in inpatient Palliative Care, and she is an Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. She is truly an expert in her field, and we are immensely proud to call her our colleague.
