One moment I'll never forget: in the middle of the night, when my husband's heart rate spiked, and panic set in, Marben stayed by his side, speaking gently, helping him breathe, and staying completely composed.
Ben has inspired me so much as an upcoming nurse. I have watched him care for patients with genuine passion for his patients and profession. He also models leadership. He’s very knowledgeable and willing to help wherever it’s needed. Ben consistently demonstrates flexibility and dependability by volunteering to cover additional shifts, often on short notice when a colleague is unavailable. His commitment and work ethic exemplify the qualities of an exceptional employee.

I am nominating Marben because of the extraordinary compassion and care he provided during one of the most vulnerable times in our lives. My husband was admitted to the hospital with a sudden and frightening episode of heart arrhythmia and tachycardia. It was a time filled with fear, uncertainty, and emotional strain for both of us, and Marben wasn't just a nurse - he was a lifeline.
From the moment he entered the room, he brought a sense of calm and reassurance that made us feel safe. Throughout our stay, he continued to display an exemplary character, not because he had to, but because he genuinely cared. One moment I'll never forget: in the middle of the night, when my husband's heart rate spiked, and panic set in, Marben stayed by his side, speaking gently, helping him breathe, and staying completely composed. Nearly 8 hours later, when the alarms that had been ringing for hours were quiet for just 5 minutes longer than usual, Marben swiftly checked on us again. He had an eye and an ear on the monitor in addition to all the other patients he was assisting with care, and was incredibly prompt in ordering the EKG that provided the ultimate relief to all three of us and ultimately allowed my husband to exit the hospital shortly after.
Marben's compassion extended to me as well. He made sure I felt involved in the care process. He made eye contact, listened patiently, and never rushed a single interaction. Even though he had many patients, he never made us feel like just another name on his list. He turned a terrifying medical crisis into a moment of deep connection and trust that we will always remember.
