She is a fierce advocate for her patients and follows up on them to ensure they receive the care they deserve.
This is one of the many compliments that Maranda has gotten. She consistently goes above and beyond to care for Veterans. I received another compliment last week from a patient’s daughter. She said Maranda kept them up to date, made them feel welcome and appreciated. The patient was here for a respiratory issue, and at times, the patient was critical. Maranda continued to stay with the patient, gave his family reassurance, and provided optimal care to the Veteran. She recognized early signs of respiratory deterioration in the patient’s condition and intervened to prevent the patient from being intubated. The family was so impressed. The next day, Maranda came in early and went to check on them in the unit.

Maranda is often complimented by her peers for her upbeat and cheerful attitude. She always has a smile on her face and is always willing to assist with any task. She is a phenomenal ED nurse and any of us would be lucky to have her caring for ourselves or our families.
Maranda thank you so much for the excellent care and attention you give our Veterans!! This was a comment from a Veteran in the ED “Maranda is wonderful. She is always excellent with her patience when she is taking care of patients or needs is the only thing she cares about if she ever has a bad day you cannot tell because she is always bubbly and happy we have had several year visits and cared for by many different nurses and Maranda is the only one my dad remembers. He has dementia and is very special and exactly what a nurse should be like.” (ER)
