She came into my room at frequent intervals to update me about the plan of care, where the providers were in their work/process, what I could anticipate coming next, etc. She was kind, warm, and understanding.
I was recently in the ED with severe pain. While there, I found out I’m the lucky new owner of not just 1 but 2 large kidney stones.

I have an extensive health history that includes breast cancer, treatment, and complications, as well as multiple other surgeries and conditions. Additionally, my daughter was born in Dec 2019 with an autoimmune disorder which resulted in countless trips to the ED during Covid as clinics would not see her if she was not well. I am familiar with an Emergency Department, how care is provided, how important flow is, and what the staff are like. I have never received the kind of care I did that day in your ED, and I had the most amazing nurse.

She was safe, always verifying my name and DOB She was well informed, educated, experienced, and competent; it was clear she knew her craft! Additionally, she was holistic in her education and assessment of what I was going through.

Despite the pain I was in I asked to not receive narcotics (they often make me nauseous and antiemetics make me sleepy) she advocated for me to receive Toradol instead with the providers. When the Toradol worked like a charm, she gave me a warm smile and said she was glad. She came into my room at frequent intervals to update me about the plan of care, where the providers were in their work/process, what I could anticipate coming next, etc. She was kind, warm, and understanding. Truly the epitome of what any patient would hope to receive, and I’m honored to be a part of the institution she works with. Because of this experience, I will always advocate for people I love to come here and receive such compassionate care.
