I don’t even know where to begin. My husband was an ICU patient for a week. He had to be put on the ventilator before passing.

During our time in the ICU, Amanda and Maggie exemplified everything that nursing should be: compassion, excellence, advocacy, and humanity. They were far more than exceptional nurses—they were a source of strength and comfort during the most devastating experience of my life.

From the very beginning, Maggie and Amanda dedicated countless hours to making sure I understood every aspect of my husband's care. They patiently walked me through tests, procedures, medications, and treatment plans, never making me feel rushed or like my questions were too much. I asked endless, rapid-fire questions, and they answered each one with patience, honesty, and kindness. If they didn't have an answer, they immediately found someone who did. Their willingness to educate me and include me in his care gave me a sense of trust and peace in a situation that felt completely out of my control.

One of the things I will never forget is the respect and dignity they showed my husband every single day. Before administering medications or performing any procedure, they always spoke directly to him, explaining what they were doing and what he could expect. They never treated him as just another patient or a room number—they treated him as a person who deserved compassion, respect, and a voice. That simple but powerful act reminded me that even in the ICU, his humanity mattered. It is something I will carry with me forever.

Maggie and Amanda also cared for me in ways that extended far beyond their clinical responsibilities. They recognized that I was walking through unimaginable grief and uncertainty, yet they never overlooked my needs. They listened when I needed someone to listen, reassured me when fear took over, and made me feel genuinely supported and cared for. At a time when I felt like the world around me was falling apart, they made me feel seen, valued, and loved.

The compassion, professionalism, and selflessness Maggie and Amanda demonstrated every day changed my life. Their impact reaches far beyond the care they provided in the ICU—they gave our family dignity during an incredibly difficult chapter and created memories of kindness that will stay with me forever.

They represent the very best of the nursing profession, and I cannot imagine two people more deserving of this recognition. I will be forever grateful for the extraordinary care they gave to my husband and for the unwavering compassion they showed me when I needed it most.

Thank you, Maggie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
