Each time she came into the room, she held my mother’s hand when she was asking her how she was feeling, and what she could do to help.
My 78-year-old mother came into the emergency room due to complications with her lung cancer. During our stay, it was determined that there was nothing more the doctors could do for my mother. It was decided that my mother would go into hospice care. Maggie Jo was so compassionate and sympathetic to my mother and her situation. She made my mother feel like she was the only person that Maggie Jo was taking care of that day. She made sure that she took care of all of my mother’s needs, asked her how she was feeling, and what she could do to help my mother. Each time she came into the room, she held my mother’s hand when she was asking her how she was feeling, and what she could do to help. Maggie Jo was very attentive, checking on my mother all the time. She built such a rapport with my mother. When her shift was over, she even came in and said goodbye to my mother and gave her a hug. That meant the world to us.
