My mom was in the hospital. Out of all the staff we came in contact with Maddy stood out as the best. She was patient with my mom and her dementia as well as with my sister and I with all of our questions. She followed through with everything she said she was going to do and went above and beyond to be sure all three of us had what we needed. She showed compassion and empathy, no matter if it was the beginning or the end of her shift. Even when mom didn't want to move, Maddy found a way to encourage her without being demeaning or condescending. She repeated information when mom forgot and did not exhibit any frustration. We were very comforted by her presence as well as her knowledge. If we had to come back, we would request Maddy as her nurse with absolutely no hesitation. She is a credit to her profession and your organization.
