Nurse educators are essential, particularly within the demanding environment of a hospital. The role of a nurse educator involves teaching, mentoring, and training nurses with a wide range of ages and levels of experience. Madeleine, affectionately known as Madde, is a quiet hero who consistently works diligently behind the scenes, dedicated to preparing both current and future generations of nurses. She possesses a remarkable ability to make a challenging role appear effortless.

I first met Maddee when I was a bedside nurse on IMC. As s one of those nurses who always asked the "why and how of things," I frequently sought out her expertise. I never felt judged or like a nuisance; she always checked in on the floor and encouraged us to educate ourselves. She is highly organized, actively involved in In-services and skills fairs, and was one of the key people who encouraged us to educate ourselves. She is highly organized, actively Involved In-services and skills fairs, and was one of the key resources I relied on for complex patient care situations.

Even after I transitioned to my role in Wound Care, I continued to rely on Maddee. Though I was no longer under her direct responsibility, she still welcomed my thoughts and queries. Despite being one of the few adult care educators in the hospital, she kept me under her wing. She is generous with her knowledge, takes the time to listen, builds others up, and encourages growth. She is our reliable source for answers, and | also values her courage to provide honest, constructive feedback without being hurtful.

She has a true passion for teaching and actively encourages me to get out of my comfort zone, which ultimately led me to my current role. Madeleine is one of a kind.
