She was very patient and understanding.
My husband, F, was admitted to Reading Hospital in the R Building. He had great nurses right from the beginning. He had a setback and was quickly moved to T-4. This is where Macy demonstrated her caring and competent nursing skills. She has a very compassionate heart!

F was confined to bed, due to his oxygen levels going too low if doing too much “activity.” He could, however, stand and use a urine bottle and a bedside commode, both of which create embarrassment for a man! He never felt that way with Macy. She was very patient and understanding. F always spoke very highly of her skills to me when I visited each day. He would call her “exceptional!” He improved slightly and was moved to R-3. There, too, he had great nurses, but he did miss Macy.

A month later, F went home on Hospice Care. F wanted to go home. He talked to and visited with family and friends that day, and was just sitting back in his La-Z-Boy chair. He had coffee and a donut with his son for breakfast.

The next day, late evening, F passed away, peacefully, finally done gasping for breath. He kept reminding me not to forget about Macy. Of course, I did not. I am writing to thank Macy for all the wonderful care she gave F on T4.
