I was verbally attacked by a patient with whom I shared a room with. Unfortunately, I witnessed her attack Nurse Mackinzy verbally, much worse than I. Never did Mackinzy allow this patient to cause her to get out of character, nor become discombobulated. She remained calm. She responded to the call light quickly, although the patient was abusing the light.

Every demand that the patient was adamant about, Mackinzy tried reasoning with her about it. Mackinzy always came into the room with a warm smile. She displays a superb level of understanding and compassion. She is to be commended for her level of patience. I appreciate how she stayed in her natural character of love and care.

Please let her know that she sets the bar high for her colleagues with how she handles a never-satisfied and deranged patient by not deviating from putting the patient care foremost. Her humility is what sets her apart from others, and her desire to go beyond the call of duty will never be forgotten by me. She manifested love and care through it all.
