My husband, a big, burly, bearded, white-haired man, was in a state of overwhelming helplessness. He had been admitted into the Short Stay Unit after having a complicated heart catheterization.

Entering the room, the nurse greeted us with a smile and comforting nod while she observed monitors, my husband's physical, mental, and various other medical issues, read reports from the computer monitor, and questioned - a side note-her multitasking skills were amazingly spot-on! As she evaluated him, she answered questions masterfully, kindly, and skillfully.

Before I realized what was happening, I could feel the overwhelming helplessness we both had before she entered the room, and then she turned to calmness. I have always believed God's timing is always right! He sends the right person in our lives at the right time... right when we need them the most!

This unique individual is Mackenzie Cardosi, who demonstrated commitment, compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness to our needs. She had a challenging case for several hours, during which she demonstrated her high-level life-saving skills on my spouse. She held pressure with all her weight for close to two hours to prevent him from bleeding out.

She had to be exhausted by the time she ended her work shift, never complaining and always asking if he needed anything she could get for him. This is only one of many specific situations that Mackenzie Cardosi handled, and she is a nurse who makes a difference and demonstrated these practices to alleviate my husband's discomfort during his stay at CommonSpirit Memorial. She is intelligent and well-trained.

Why am I writing this thank you? It is never enough to just write thank you, but it means more when others know that Mackenzie cares about others and she does her job with dedication. We want others to know that she is one of the best and has a bright future ahead.

We want to acknowledge her skillful talents and the God-given gifts that come from her heart and mind. She is special. We appreciate her, and we more than thank her for saving a life today.

She saved a husband, a dad, a papa, an uncle, a brother, a best friend, and one of the best human beings God put on this earth.

Thank you, MacKenzie.

Thank you, Mackenzie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
