Maci Vey, LPN

Maci is extremely compassionate with patients and coworkers. Every time she speaks with a patient, she asks how they are doing and gets to know them, building a connection with them. Last week, Maci forwarded a message thread so I could schedule an appointment. In the message, Maci complimented the new photo the patient chose for their MyChart profile. The patient was extremely thankful Maci noticed such a small thing.

Another patient who had a high-risk pregnancy would bring her toddler son during visits. Maci would bring the child coloring materials and stickers to keep him occupied while the patient visited with the provider. When speaking with patients, Maci thoroughly explains the plan of care and ensures they fully understand before ending the conversation.

For our provider's birthday, Maci coordinated a surprise potluck and decorated his office before he arrived at work. Maci asks coworkers if they need help, even when she is super busy herself. If the Women's Health Lab is busy, Maci helps by getting the equipment needed to draw blood from the patient in the exam room. When Maci switched from one provider to another because the original provider might retire, a handful of patients switched to the new provider to follow Maci because of her level of care.
