Lynn has been at Union Health for many years, and during that time, she has worn many different hats. She has worked at the bedside, she has been a Nursing Care Manager of a medical-surgical unit, and she has been heavily involved in patient satisfaction and shared governance. Lynn currently serves as the Nursing Care manager of our Float Pool department, which also encompasses not only our float staff for bedside nursing and patient care technicians, but also our new nursing apprenticeship program. Lynn's involvement in growing and coaching our apprentices is second to none. She is always a role model with anyone she comes into contact with, but even more so when developing our young nurse workforce. She currently oversees 44 apprentices from 3 different local colleges in Vigo County. She does this along with managing her other workforce. She mentors those under her direction to prepare them not only skills-wise, but also mentally. She instills in them the high standards she has for ethics, always doing the right thing for the patients and the organization. She deeply cares about their success, both for them personally and for our patients. She is an advocate, working and participating with IONL. She truly tries to see the best in everyone and works collaboratively with everyone she comes into contact with, no matter the setting, no matter what area they work for in the organization. Very few people like Lynn exist, someone who truly lives to help others develop, whether it be as a student or a colleague. She has given over 40 years of her life to Union Health, and now she is sharing that even more with our young students and future nurses, as well as her over 70 other employees.
