November 2025 Honoree
Lynette Dalton, RN, BSN
Lynette Dalton exemplifies what it means to go above and beyond in her role. From the very beginning, she prioritized creating a healing and meaningful experience for our family.
When my wife had not yet held our baby and the situation felt critical, Lynette reassured us that skin-to-skin contact would be one of the best things for our baby’s recovery. She made that moment possible, and it was life-changing for us.
Even after explaining that her educator and Epic trainer responsibilities might limit her availability, Lynette agreed to be our primary nurse because she knew how much it mattered. She didn’t just accept the role; she embraced it fully. Every shift, she checked on our baby, sought us out, and made time for those precious moments of connection.
On days when I struggled to comfort our daughter, Lynette would hear her cries and come to help without hesitation. Her care was genuine, loving, and deeply personal.
Lynette lives Intermountain’s values every day. She serves with empathy, showing compassion and respect not only to our baby but to us as parents during an incredibly vulnerable time. She is a partner in health, collaborating with us and guiding us through each step with clarity and kindness. And she does the right thing, acting with purpose and prioritizing what truly matters for healing and well-being.
Her presence brought peace to our room, and her dedication created moments we will never forget. Lynette is more than a nurse; she is a source of hope and love.

Lynette Dalton’s care changed the course of our family’s experience during an incredibly difficult time. Her actions gave us moments of hope when fear and uncertainty felt overwhelming.
When my wife was unable to hold our baby, we felt helpless and disconnected. Lynette made it possible for us to share that first embrace, and in doing so, she restored a sense of normalcy and joy that we thought we had lost. That moment was not just healing for our baby; it was healing for us as parents.
Throughout our journey, Lynette’s presence brought peace and reassurance. She gave us confidence when we doubted ourselves and comfort when anxiety consumed us. Her compassion turned a sterile hospital environment into a place of love and belonging.
For my wife, those moments of connection eased the pain of separation and gave her strength to keep going. For me, Lynette’s support reminded me that we were not alone in caring for our child.
Her impact will stay with us forever. Lynette didn’t just provide care; she gave us hope, dignity, and the ability to bond with our baby during the most fragile time of her life. That gift is priceless.
