It's hard to choose just one, given that I've been inpatient for three weeks, but a big one was her fighting for me to get my own room. I was in the one double room on the floor, and my roommate was making rest utterly impossible: barking, bolting upright in the middle of the night and screaming, singing at the top of her lungs, etc. (Note: I in no way am disparaging her character, as it was obviously from meds, anesthesia and being so ill. Regardless, it did not make for a peaceful or healing environment for me.) Lulu fought hard for several days and finally made it happen. My single room felt like a luxury hotel room after that, and I was able to get some amazing sleep. There was another situation where my ostomy bag opened in my sleep, and my bed and I were a messy, malodorous disaster. She really went above and beyond in easing the embarrassment while cleaning both me, my bed and belongings.

Lulu was extremely attentive to my needs, not to mention very thorough. Her bedside manner was very personable. Laughter is frequently hard to come by while inpatient, but she elicited it from me often. While professionalism came first, it was clear that she truly cared about my well-being and my life in general. She has all the qualities that I look for when establishing friendship in the "outside world". I could nominate many of my providers from the 10th floor from the last month, but she still stands out even among the rest of the incredible staff. I'm truly thankful for her care.
