One recent example perfectly illustrates her extraordinary impact: Lucie discovered that a long-time patient, who has been visiting our clinic since 1993, was scheduled for treatment on her 90th birthday. This patient, known for her kindness and for bringing birthday cards to staff each year, has become part of our extended family. Recognizing the significance of this milestone, Lucie coordinated with the patient’s daughter to organize a surprise birthday celebration in the infusion room. She arranged balloons, a sash, a crown, the patient’s favorite cake, and even a team gift that included restaurant gift cards. The joy and gratitude on the patient’s face that day were unforgettable, and it was all made possible by Lucie’s thoughtfulness and initiative. This is just one of many examples of how Lucie goes above and beyond. Whether it’s spending an hour on the phone comforting a lonely patient or working with hospice to help young parents create lasting memories for their children, Lucie brings light and humanity to even the most difficult moments.
