She looked at my husband and said, "I'm Lulu." When she said, "I'm Lulu," I burst into tears and told her, "Lulu, you saved me from panicking; you were with me." When she saw me and my husband, she recognized us perfectly and hugged me. Her tearful eyes and smile filled me with faith.
I had a terrible accident; I was run over just as I was leaving the polling station. I was standing on the sidewalk, waiting to cross the street, when a driver lost control of his vehicle, mounted the curb, and ran me over. From that moment on, my story has been filled with events and miracles.
The ambulance took me to Zambrano Hellion Hospital, where I was admitted to the emergency room, accompanied by my husband. I was frightened, shocked, and in crisis. The first nurse who took care of me was Lulu. I took her hand, and I immediately burst into tears. I begged her not to leave me alone. I placed my trust in her.
The pain in my leg was immense, but the inner pain from the accident was even greater. I didn't understand what was happening, but every time Lulu appeared, she brought me a sense of peace and trust.
The wait to enter the operating room was long, but Lulu never left my side. The way she treated us was unforgettable; she supported my husband and was deeply involved in my case in the emergency room.
I didn't remember her face, only her name, "Lulu.” This was because I was extremely nervous, and I didn't understand anything. I was afraid of everything, but there was someone whose hand I held tightly, and she told me, "I'm here with you, ma'am," explaining everything they were doing to me.
I felt very calm with her. After the procedure in the operating room, I was taken to my room. I spent 19 days in the hospital, and when I was discharged, I didn't see her again.
But I returned to the hospital for an emergency, and that's when Lulu saw me and turned to look at my husband. I saw her face, a face filled with emotion and joy for seeing me well because she saw me when I arrived at the hospital after the accident, totally bruised.
Perhaps she didn't know what had happened to me after that. But when the doors opened, and she received me, she looked at me in surprise. I didn't recognize her by her face, but by her name.
She told me that it gave her great joy to see me better and that she remembered the day I arrived at the hospital after being run over. I will never forget that moment and the way she welcomed me.
I felt wonderful because she remembered me, and in fact, she became very emotional. She told me, "Ma'am, it's lovely to see you here and see you well." On that occasion, I was there for another reason, and I remember how lovely I felt. She even told me, "Allow me to step outside because I'm going to cry," and it was a very special sensation. I thanked her very much.
This time, before leaving, I called the emergency room looking for her, and I found her. I thanked her and told her that she had left a lovely mark on me. This is my story with Lulu. When she saw me and recognized me, she couldn't believe I was okay. Now that I've seen her, I'll never forget her face!
Thank you, Lulu, for saving me. You deserve all my respect and admiration, as well as this nomination.
