Louise, in particular, was an absolute angel and was a blessing to have during this dark hour of my life.
I had an unexpected miscarriage overnight at nearly 14 weeks. As heartbreaking and traumatic as this was for both my husband and me, I also had complications related to the miscarriage and bled a lot. Louise came on shift about an hour after I arrived at the ER. She was phenomenally patient, concerned, and competent with me.
Louise was concerned and kept careful watch over my bleeding and condition the whole time I was there. When my blood pressure bottomed out, she was there, acting quickly and competently. We had complete trust in her knowledge and skills and highly valued her opinion. She was very quick to keep the doctors (both ER and OB, both of whom were amazing) abreast of my condition and to obtain the necessary orders. She was thorough in her care and concern.
The first time I had to call her, I knew she had been on shift for barely 15 minutes, and I am sure she had other patients and reports to attend to, but she came without delay and with concern for me, both clinically and emotionally.
As awful and traumatic as this experience was, my care was top-notch and made tolerable because of her. While I wish I could nominate everyone who saw me during this visit, my nurse, Louise, in particular, was an absolute angel and was a blessing to have during this dark hour of my life.
Louise, I hope you get to read this. I cannot thank you enough.
