Lori actively precepts and mentors new hires in the department and she is an amazing team player.
Lori began her nursing career in 1995 and since 2011 has been an Inpatient Wound Care RN. Since 2019, she has been employed as University Medical Center's Lead Wound Coordinator. She has recently received her National Wound Care Certification (WOCN) Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse. Lori is the Pressure Injury Task Force Coordinator of our facility. This entails preparing for monthly meetings and quarterly prevalence surveys.

In addition to her role as a Wound Care Nurse, she goes above and beyond for all her patients. She ensures that her patients are receiving the highest quality of care during their hospitalization and upon discharge. She actively precepts and mentors new hires in the department and she is an amazing team player. Not only does she show compassion to her peers but to her patients as well. I can remember an encounter when a patient and her daughter were not having a great patient experience and required further training in multiple areas.

I called Lori to see if she could come to visit the patient and provide additional support and education on the wound vacuum and ostomy care. Lori was there within minutes and she was patient, kind, informative, and supportive of the needs of the patient and daughter. I received a phone call from the patient's daughter the following day stating how appreciative they were of the additional support they received from Lori. Lori Rivet is truly an Outstanding Nurse!
