Lori Gaines, RN

My father was diagnosed with multiple myeloma cancer, one of the scariest times of my life. After being treated and admitted to UH downtown, we realized that UH Geneva could handle his infusions, etc., so we transferred his transfusions to UH Geneva. We didn't know what any of his medications were for or what time of day to take them, etc. Lori showed us what the labs meant and what indicators to keep a watchful eye on. As his son, I personally don't even handle my own medications, my wife does, but with Lori's help, I now handle all of my dad's medications, his survey's each month as well.

My father is my best friend and actually my only true friend, aside from my wife and with Lori's help I am now actually able to sleep with out worrying about my dad. She is always very helpful, and when Dad is so sad, she always makes him feel better! We actually look forward to seeing her and going to chemo infusions now! I truly can't say enough about how much she has done! Through the darkest days in our lives, she shone like a star!
