Lois made this incredibly horrible process a little more manageable , and I cannot thank her enough for that.
My 21-year-old little brother, B, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that resulted in his death. He was airlifted from our hometown. He was brain-dead by the time I arrived, but was an organ donor who was viable for donation. This gave me 2 more days with my little brother that I would've given the world for. We got to have one more sleepover with him on his final night in the ICU.
Lois was his night nurse. The ICU room limits were 2 people per room. She let my wife and I; my other little brother and his girlfriend, my little sister, and B’s girlfriend all stay the night. She made sure we were comfortable and explained everything she was doing with my brother. She helped console my family as we did his honor walk and wheeled him into his organ donation surgery.
Lois made this incredibly horrible process a little more manageable , and I cannot thank her enough for that. She let me hold his hand all night and talk to him. My family and I are beyond grateful for the care she provided, and she will always hold a special place in our hearts.
