Logan took the time and extra effort on Sunday to get someone to cover her other patients and personally help bring the patient to an outdoor patio area for some sun therapy.
One of our patients who had been in the hospital for almost 40 days after having suffering from HIT following a CABG procedure. He was waiting for the necrosis in his legs to demarcate before vascular surgery was going to perform bilateral below the knee amputations on him, and the ONLY thing he wanted the whole weekend was to try to get outside and get some fresh air (he was an outdoorsman and being inside for so long was the worst part of his stay). Logan was covering the step-down unit patients over the weekend, and she took the time and extra effort on Sunday to get someone to cover her other patients and personally help bring the patient to an outdoor patio area for some sun therapy. For the next few days, every time anyone went into the patient's room, all he wanted to talk about was how much he appreciated that trip outside. I was sincerely impressed by her commitment to go the extra mile for her patient. She also offered to cover another nurse's patient's the following Tuesday so that the patient could get sun therapy one more time before his operation on Wednesday. Way to go Logan!
