July 2026 Honoree
Lisa Prybilla, RN
My story begins on Monday. The day started at a Clinic. I had just gotten home over the weekend from being in Texas for the winter and was not feeling well.
My Provider felt I needed a lung scan. I was sent to Unity Imaging for the scan. I had an IV started and was put into the scanner. Before the dye was injected, the team stopped because my creatinine was too high to have the dye injected. I was encouraged to go to the ER. The ER was busy, and it just became even busier. The team in the ER was working as efficiently as possible, but patients kept arriving.
When Lisa Prybilla became my nurse, my story changed from chaos and business to caring and empathy. Lisa clearly communicated with me about what was happening and asked me how I was doing and what she could do for me. She asked me if I was cold and offered me a warm blanket. The warm blanket was one of the most important acts of kindness. I will always remember the warm blanket!
It was clear from the beginning that Lisa has attention to detail. As a patient, I felt secure and safe and well taken care of. Lisa is not only a patient advocate but a family advocate as well. My daughter and granddaughter (both are first-year nursing students) came to the ER. Lisa found time to get them and brought chairs for them. They asked Lisa questions, and she answered their questions. My daughter and granddaughter learned a lot from Lisa about what it means to be a great nurse! They witnessed the commitment of a nurse who loves what she does.
Lisa, many thanks for the exceptional care!
