Even in the most critical moments, she managed to ease our fears and bring comfort.
After a serious accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury, severe and complex facial fractures, and fractures in both legs, our brother/son was in a comatose state. He received intensive medical care in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit. We want to express our deepest appreciation for Lisa Pfandl’s extraordinary dedication and, therefore, nominate her for the DAISY Award.
Lisa is an excellent, compassionate, and communicative young woman. Our very first encounter with her was warm, empathetic, and positive. She took the time to explain in detail how to interact with a patient in a coma, which made it much easier for us to cope with the situation. There was no question that we couldn’t ask Lisa. Even something as simple as “Do the patient’s teeth get brushed?” was treated by her as a completely normal and valid question—she kindly explained the process to us afterward. Thanks to her professional knowledge, we always felt well-informed and reassured.
Having Lisa by our side made our time in the intensive care unit much easier to bear. Even in the most critical moments, she managed to ease our fears and bring comfort. Thank you, Lisa, for your outstanding commitment and the remarkable care you provide every single day! Having Lisa by our side made our time in the intensive care unit more bearable.
