I am a patient on the acute psych unit for severe depression disorder. This whole experience has been unreal to me with so much unknown. Everything was taken away from me, and it was very dehumanizing. You may think the things I write about Nurse Joseph are ordinary and a part of her job. I tell you, she is extraordinary, and she is a shining example of VA nurses. Instead of spending her idle time, of which there is hardly any, she always engages with the Veterans and helps keep them busy and stimulated. What makes this so extraordinary is that she goes the extra step to really deliver whole health. Hats off and kudos to Nurse Joseph.
