Nomination #1:
I have already nominated the other nurses who helped my grandfather, and I would like to add Lisa to the list. She was so caring and kind to him, and to us! She talked to him and explained everything she was doing to him, even though he was non-responsive, and also took the time to comb his hair after moving him around in the bed. I honestly feel like she treated him like she would have treated her own family member. We shared stories and talked often when she would check up on him. She took the time to answer all the questions, even if she had already answered them to other family members. Lisa helped us all feel more comfortable with my grandfather's transition to his final resting place.

The whole department has been so wonderful, and I can't thank you all enough for everything. I will definitely recommend this hospital to anyone needing this kind of care. From the moment we met Lisa Awrey, she instantly calmed our anxieties and worries by listening intensely, addressing our needs, and showing overwhelming compassion and empathy for my husband (patient) and me (his wife). Lisa went over and beyond her call of duty to assist with all of his medical needs and assist me with all of my countless questions and concerns that I had. Lisa is truly in a league of her own in her field of nursing! She is a natural when it comes to building positive relationships, using her expertise to heal and educate others, validating the feelings of others, and showing love and respect for everyone involved. Lisa is an extraordinary nurse, and MyMichigan is extremely blessed to have her on its team! If Lisa were a flower, she would be the most beautiful daisy! Thank you, Lisa, for everything!
