My husband, F, has had many nurses while at Broward Health Imperial Point. One nurse in particular stood out to me, and I truly thank you for being a part of my husband’s stay. My husband has dementia and is at the stage where he doesn’t even recognize me, his wife, anymore. F becomes restless, agitated, irritable, and aggressive. No matter which stage my husband was at, this nurse always kept a smile on her face, showing him what true patient care is all about. Her kindness, her patience, empathy, compassion, I can just go on. F kept getting out of bed over and over, extremely restless, and this nurse took it upon herself to walk around with him. At some point, she was able to redirect him back to his room, where he was lying in bed, and she was sitting at his bedside, holding his hand, rubbing his head, and singing to him to sleep. She took it upon herself to make F as comfortable as possible. This meant the world to me. I know F will never remember this moment, but I will. I want to thank her for all her dedication and would nominate her over and over. She is an amazing asset to this hospital.
