I never take the time to fill out papers, even with good intent. I usually do not follow through, so this paper has been dragged through OCU to CCU and back to ICU during a 2-week stay with my husband.

My husband is a 20-year Veteran and Green Beret Special Forces. I have previously worked as a nurse in my previous profession and am aware of how thankless this profession can be, unintentionally. We often take for granted the care we receive from others. That is where Linnea comes in - she is both exceptional and unmatched with her skills, attentive to my husband's intense care while being sensitive and treating him as an individual, tending to his every need, doing what was needed before we knew we needed it. Linnea is so kind and compassionate, while being totally professional as a person and a nurse.

Linnea is a gem - both as a person and a nurse. She was also very informative, keeping us updated on every new change and explaining it fully, even though he was intubated and sedated much of the time. She called him by name and spoke to him like he was completely awake. I came into his room twice when she did not know I was behind her, and she was bent over him, verbally explaining to him what she was doing and why, even though he was completely sedated and intubated. He later told me that he had heard what was being said on numerous occasions, even though we thought he was totally sedated. My husband passed away on the MSICU.
